I purchased a reconditioned Bosch 18v-26 almost exactly two years ago to replace my worn out Hilti. Used it a couple times, worked fantastic, better than any drill I’ve ever used. I was all psyched to go out and bolt some choss today and the drill does nothing. The batteries show full power but it’s totally dead. EPC switch, hammer/drill modes, forward/lock/reverse. Tried everything I can think of. Anyone experienced this? Any suggestions?

You have probably already checked this, but if its getting no power at all from multiple batteries I would make sure the connections are good on the bottom, maybe blow it out with air or spray some electronic connection cleaner on it... hopefully that wire isn't internal. Thats a bummer though.

I have the same drill, also a reconditioned one, and had the board replaced after the same issue. Do you have a warranty? The tool repair place said it was extremely common in the first Gen brushless tools, they overheat and fry the board I believe.

I'm assuming you already did, but the drill also has a problem sometimes that is fixed by taking the battery on and off, resets some sort of sensor it seems.

Thanks for the replies. Blew everything out with a compressor, it’s squeaky clean, tried both batteries and both show full charge. Upsetting to hear about the fried circuit board. Guess I’ll be sending it in for repair. CPO outlet won’t touch it past 120 days. I’ll let you know what Bosch says in 3-4 business days.

Update: Good news - Bosch’s warrantee policy is to repair tools up to three years old, even though I didn’t fill out the registration. FYI batteries and tools under one year are replaced by Bosch. Yesterday they sent me an email with fed ex shipping labels and I sent it off to a repair center.

I had an issue with a Refurb Bosh (batteries and / or charger - we never were sure ) and they took care of me. A bit slow but super nice.

Thanks for the update! Good to know a refurbished Bosch is a good way to go.
