Car break-in at oak creek canyon parking area

So four of us went to climb solar slab today and when we got back our car had been broken into. They took 3 packs in the backseat (yes dumb move not putting them in trunk) which contained a laptop, ipad, slackline, and a bunch of climbing gear. My bud and I lost a bunch of quickdraws, some cams, nuts and micronuts, 65m tag line, and other things like slings and grigris and lockers. I don't think they were after climbing gear because they left the cams I had hidden under a jacket alone. So I guess be careful out there and if you see ditched gear or really cheap gear maybe dm me? Also if you see someone with an old school teal rei ski backpack that pack probably ain't theirs:/ Thanks!!

Was this along the main road (RT 159) or inside the park (loop)?

Geez!  That's disconcerting considering I've parked there several times for alpine starts before the gate opens.  Best of luck getting your stuff back!

Its very rare that people try to dump stolen gear here, but we will keep an eye out. You should also post this in lost and found with as much detail as possible, including any photos you may have.

That sucks. Some meth heads once broke into my car at Kraft Mountain and I didn't even have anything visible.

It seems that a lot of the break-ins, maybe most, are by drug addicts looking to score their next fix, so I'd check local pawnshops if you can. Good luck.

Why can humans be such p.o.s, I wish I could put a curse on them for you. I park there when I run so this definitely gives me pause..

What a disappointing end to what was probably a nice day. So sorry this happened!!
