Camping near Elden?

It has been many years since I have been up to Mt Elden (deception cracks area).
Is there still easily accessible car camping close by - or at least along the road?
Would I be better off across 180 in the Wing Mountain area?
Just wondering if population has encroached or the FS has closed camping so close to town.

Hi Karl,

Elden Lookout Rd. Is currently closed to motorized vehicles due to forest thinning operations. West Elden is open for climbing but you would have to walk in from the gate or ride a bike. Open camping is still allowed in areas on the Hwy 180 corridor.
