Passed away 4/23. Interesting man, quite a climber. His short story, Mirror, Mirror, is a must read and so is his book, A Dream of White Horses.

Strong climber and environmentalist.

Not enough people like Mr Drummond.

Ed was an incredible climber, one of the pioneers of buildering;having  made numerous gound up, free attempts on the TransAmerica building in SF.
A very vocal voice on the ethics of climbing, also a poet at heart: he epitomised the climbing spirit of the 70s and 80s.
May he rest in peace.

A nice obituary just appeared in the NY Times:

Reading that article makes me want to read more about him and his books. Some interesting images there as well.

Condolences to all Ed's loved ones. Grateful for Ed living amongst us for as long as he could. He was a dedicated environmental activist and a great climber, a thoughtful and engaging conversationalist, a poet in mind, body and soul.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
