New Zealand - Castle Hill

My wife and I are headed to New Zealand in a few weeks and are planning on doing some bouldering at Castle Hill and some of the surrounding areas.

Looking for any beta on crash pads, whether it's worth tracking down a guidebook, etc. I'll take any info you guys have!

You can hire crash pads at the ski/outdoor shop in Springfield on the way to Castle Hill from Christchurch. I can't speak to guidebook desirability as I am not a boulderer.

I think the Castle Hill guidebook is out of print, but at the shop where you rent the crash pads you can take photos of the guide book they have on site. Also lots of beta online if you know the kiwi centric sites to check out. thecrag.com/climbing/new-ze…
