We’re looking to head down to Shortoff Mountain in a  week and was hoping someone could help with beta on the approach to Maginot Line?

Be sure to read the comments section on the Shortoff Mountain page on this site. Lots of good information there on how to hike up the mountain and get headed down the descent gully.

When you start the descent you'll be on the left side of the gully. Eventually you'll be going right down the middle of it, and then you'll step to the right out of it. At this point you have two options. You can head down and left and continue on steeper scrambling down the gully. A much easier option is to head off right on a trail that will soon curl around left and take you to a rappel tree. A rappel with a single 60m rope will get you down to the bottom.

Once you're down, continue down and around to the climber's right. There are great pictures on this site of both Little Corner and Maginot Line as seen from the base. You'll come across Little Corner first. Once you've positively identified that one, keep working right until you find Maginot Line. The corner system sort of zigs and zags. It's pretty distinctive.
