If you start on a diet of fish heads, after about 5 years you can up that possibility to 43.87245%

This is awesome.

Seems reasonable.  Give yourself plenty of time to acclimate.  Good luck!

Looks incredible and I am certainly not qualified to say if its possible or not. My only thought is that it looks so aesthetic, there may be a reason nobody had tried it or succeeded on such a famous peak. Also, if you're gauging opinions on mountain project, should you be looking to do a new route on one of the hardest peaks in the world?

Aren't you worried someone here will scoop your FA before you could get to it???

I've done it that way but you have to go left near the top around the hangy avalanche thing, if you go right bring skis and a parachute. Also, the crosswind was a mother bear....... ;)

Is that not the 1978 American route?

I was on this trip with John. The hangy thing was scary. The wind blew me off the summit. Fortunately I had a parachute and skis.

Beat everyone back to base camp by 2 days ;)

Apparently they named it after us "Americans" even though the sherpas did all the work......pass me another O2 por favor........just like I said....left....NOT right.....

I prefer the original name from '76 (Barritt/Price) but "American route" is ok too.... ;)

I know right......except for those sherpas stealing your whiskey and using it for stove fuel and the problem getting the purple sticky to burn above 8,500 feet it couldn't have gone better....

As far as I know, the "direct finish" has been talked about but never completed (maybe never even seriously attempted)

I did not feel any crosswind during my visit here through google earth:-):-):-). However I feel the need of parachute many times, even during street view and during flight simulator too...............;)

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
