Hey guys! I'm looking for a website to research backpacking trails. I was hoping to find a resource similar to Mountain Project, but for backpacking instead of climbing and I have come up short with several google searches. I was just wanting something to browse different trails before comitting to buying maps or guide books. Thanks everyone! Also I'm in West Glacier Montana, so if anyone has suggestions for this area I would love to check them out.

Ummmm.. you mean like MP's sister site, https://www.hikingproject.com/?

There's also a link at the bottom of this page.

I'm not sure how the Montana coverage is, but the Backcountry Post forum has been useful for southern UT trip planning.  You might also try the /wildernessbackpacking subreddit.  I've found the outdoor reddit community to be super helpful and less trolly than MP.  Lastly, Beartooth publishes great maps.

Ya I did check out hiking project. they don't have nearly the database that MP does. I didn't think it was that good tbh for the area I was looking around at least.

This is a good reference for Colorado:

Have you ever checked AllTrails? It also has an app you can use easily on the go!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
