Feels Like a Novocaine Shot in Back

I have a spot dead center of my back that when pressed on just right, gives a sharp stinging pain as if I just got a shot of novocaine or stung. It only happens if say I'm slouching in a hard backed chair and lean back and the smallest point of my spine presses against the back of the chair and it makes me SHOOT UP and arch my back like I was burned. I've got a pretty bony spine and it was suggested that it was simply me pinching my skin but it's a little deeper in the nerves but not so deep that it's in the muscle. Is it possible to have like a cracked vertebrae? It feels more so like nerve damage but wouldn't that suggest NO feeling??

I'd be concerned. Could be a bulged disk, perhaps? Time for a doctor's visit.

Why haven't you seen a doctor? You can't get an accurate diagnosis over the Internet.

Even with insurance, medical visits are expensive, and some people straight up cannot afford to shop around specialists trying to get a solid diagnosis, especially given the risk of receiving dismissive or misguided diagnoses, or worse, treatment that’s needlessly invasive. Asking a forum of people likely to have experienced similar injuries or symptoms can give guidance as to the types of specialists to seek out, recommendations for reliable practitioners, and remedies which may alleviate a problem without the need for a doctor’s visit.

Free MP dx. is affordable enough, but you get what you pay for. Get checked out, by a healthcare professional of some type!
