Fontainebleau crashpad rental
|
Anyone know of a place that rents crash pads in Font? I'm going to be there June 25th-30th. I'm coming by plane, and don't really want the hassle of taking one in baggage. |

Oh yeah man. Just stay in the Font Hostel. He rents pads too. I can’t say enough good things about that place. I’ll post some details in a couple minutes. |

That’s the detail. I truly can’t wait to get back. Incredibly nice host. He’ll help out whatever way he can. He’ll charge you a few Euros for this and that, but the attitude and willingness to get you to the climbing you desire is second to none. Good luck! |

Thanks Tim! I'll shoot the hostel an email. I already have rooming arrangements, so hopefully he'll rent me one without actually staying there. Any can't miss boulders for a beginner-to-intermediate boulder? I've never been outside bouldering, but do v3-v4 in the gym, so I'll probably looking for fun v2-v3 stuff. |

Prepare to have your ass handed to you. Try a circuit with grades a couple rungs down from where you feel comfortable on-site climbing. If you’re not familiar with Font circuit climbing, it’s incredible. If circuits don’t interest you (that’s ridiculous!) grab a grade based guide. There is a shit-ton of all grades in most popular areas. Elephant is one of my favorites. Flat, sandy landings and multiple circuits to choose from that are well marked, but I like blue circuits. Most of the classic areas are like that though! Based on what you’ve told me, start out trying a yellow circuit. If you cruise through one of those, bump it up to orange. The gentleman at the hostel will certainly rent a pad to you. Take some time to chat with him about the different spots and what you’re interested in. He is an incredible source. I love Font. |

The Karma climbing gym in Fontainebleau rents crashpads, I think it's 10€/day. The S'cape climbing shop may also have some to rent. |
|
Croq Foret, a small pizza place in Arbonne-la-Foret, rents pads and sells books as well. |
|
There is a pad rental company Padadise in Achères-la-Forêt in Font. They have good pads! https://www.padadise.com/ |
|
I rented from S'Cape when I was there. |

do you need a car to get around Font? or are there buses you can take a crash pad on that will shuttle you around? |
|
I'm going to be in font from july 21st to august 5th if anyone wants to link up and possibly even split a car rental cost. Only thing is you need to be able to drive manual cars to rent from the local enterprise. |
