What's the Tick situation like at Rumney right now?

Last weekend I was there and I saw a lot of tick marks all over the cliff. Some in bizarre places. There were even a few in pink sidewalk chalk

I did not encounter any ticks, the bugs, though. This doesn't mean they are not around though. If you stay on the established trails and apply some bug dope you should probably be ok.

They're out... could see them crawling on the ground

Not sure about ticks, but the black flies are out with a vengeance. Wednesday evening felt like I was in a fucking horror movie. Bring big spray. Or a flamethrower.

discovered one on my arm mid-climb last week. They are out all over NH right now. Don’t forget your tick check!

Also don't forget about Pre-treating for
 TICs *!

Swayer brand, Permethrin, spray for pre-treating everything but NOT your skin.

I climbed there on Wednesday and had 4 of them on me.  One embedded himself in my back.  The black flies are getting bad and they seem to like deet!

How effective is this stuff? We don't have it in Canada

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
