Where in Calif you planning to go?
Shasta? Lassen? Whitney?
hang around Tahoe?

You interested in anything except couloirs?
What steepness range you looking for? (like , , ,  nothing less than 45 degrees?)

There are multiple print guidebooks for most skiable mountain areas in California.

Might do better to post (with more detail about what you're looking for) to the MP Northern California forum.

The eastside is getting pretty bare. The Rock Creek drainage had plenty of snow last weekend though. There's a few northish couloirs back there that should be good. The Bloody Coulour should be good to go and is a classic.

Anyone skied in the Eastern Sierra recently?  Wondering about some first-hand accounts of conditions.

Coverage looks decent up high (above 11,000' or so), but some warming temps next week.  Maybe just below freezing above 12,000' overnight.

Any thoughts from the locals or recent visitors?

Isn't there more snow up north this year?

As far as what l'm looking for: recommended fun lines, classics, whatever is in best right now.  1-3 day outings. Quite open to any suggestions :D
Thanks, yall! Hope youve had a good Spring!

Get the guidebook by Dan Mingori and Nate Greenberg.  Backcountry Skiing California's Eastern Sierra is the title I believe.  the bible of eastside skiing.

120 is open to the park gate, so all of the skiing options are on (Dana area).  Kidney Chute, Cocaine Chute, Ripper Chute, Dana Couloir, Solstice Couloir, Ellery Bowl, Chute Out etc.  Conness area is not too far away.    Y Couloir on Conness & North Peak are popular.

Sonora Pass is open.  Y Couloir on Leavitt is awesome.

Virginia Lakes area has good skiing and high starting elevations.  More moderate stuff there but lots of corn to ski.

South Lake (out of Bishop) and Rock Creek both have good coverage and high starting elevations.

If you're willing to dry hike to the snow (which you pretty much have to do this time of year in a typical season), there's a ton of options.  Bloody couloir is definitely a classic.  If you're up for it and don't mind the walk, Red Slate Couloir is mega classic (but skiing it from the summit is you-fall-you-die terrain).  Esha Peak is popular and not too far of a dry hike.  I imagine the Wineglass in McGee is doable.

If you have something that can handle a 4x4 road the Buttermilks area has great options.  Emerson has a few popular N facing couloirs.  Kindergarten Chute is popular.  Humphreys N couloir is rad.

Looks super warm this week, get early starts.  Have fun.

Wineglass in McGee was pretty good last weekend! It was getting pretty slushy in the bottom 3rd. The bowl at the top still had plenty of coverage. Its a pretty short hike (1 mile) from the trailhead.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
