Hey guys I think I'm going to be in LA beginning of October with another climber and will have a couple down days to do some climbing. We would be willing to drive 3-4 hours and do some camping. I would like to find some trad climbing thats long easy moderate (like 5.7-5.9) and with a good wilderness type vibe (say maybe grade III). Any suggestions of places I could look? I've never been to Cali before so I have no idea what I'm in for.

Tahquitz would fit, if the weather holds. Great place to climb.

Definitely the Sierras.  Probably right on the border of how far you want to drive (depending on what part of the range you hit) but its 100% worth it.

Tahquitz and Suicide. Also, not "long" in general but if you're coming from the E. Coast you sort of owe it to yourself to experience J-tree.

Hands down.... The Needles, go do the all time classic White Punks On Dope.

October is prime season. And it has a wild vibe for sure.
