Hey I was just wondering if anyone had some recommendations for some climbing areas? Heading our there in June and from what I see there are a lot of closures for wildlife around that time. Looking for some longer trad moderates and some fun sport routes up to 5.11. Thanks in advance.

Check out the Black Hills region, Spearfish Canyon, and Needles of Rushmore/Custer state park.

Matt- your question is in the CO forum, though the first question seems to give direction for SD. Assuming you're looking for CO info:

Depending on how the spring shakes out, June is probably a bit early for moderate alpine routes. But, you'll find plenty to do around the Front Range without running into raptor closures - Boulder Canyon and Eldo will have lots of options (maybe check out Adventure Lodge for accommodations?). The South Platte can be wonderful in June - Devil's Head & Eleven Mile Canyon have good route concentrations and camping options. If you're looking to escape the Front Range, there are options further afield - Buena Vista has decent climbing, but a beautiful part of the state, and the Western Slope around Grand Junction has some awesome places to explore.

Well SD isn't that far away and has fewer people, some could argue better climbing. Could spend a week in Spearfish Canyon and run into fewer than a dozen people all week. All while enjoying some fun sport routes. Plus there aren't closures up here

City of Rocks/Castle Rock offer fine climbing in June.  Sometimes a closure on one of the trails to Flaming Rock, but there's an easy alternative.

For longer trad moderates, Lumpy Ridge is terrific. The weather in June is usually nice there, warm enough and pre-monsoon. You won't regret going there.

Thanks so much for the recommendations, looking forward to climbing out that way.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
