Hi,

I’m looking to climb Grand Sentinal this summer/fall and was wondering if anyone can recommend a nice trail circuit with backcountry camping that I could integrate into the climb.

Not everyone in my party is a climber, so the idea is to get a good hike in from someplace, setup a camp not too far from the sentinel, climb it, maybe camp another night, hike out. I’m trying to get a mix of good hiking for the non climbers, good camping for all of us, and not too far from our climb destination.

Any suggestions?

Looks like there's a campground at Paradise Valley (Pa10 in the Banff Backcountry brochure).  You can connect Sentinel Valley and Paradise Valley via Sentinel Pass.  I'd imagine that there might be campground closures the later into summer and fall you go due to bear activity.  You'd need 2 cars to make it a loop.

Youll want to look into the camping as soon as possible as bookings started at the beginning of the month and there is a good chance its already full

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
