Do the free widgets need to be at the bottom of every page?

I just finished writing an long post about getting into ice climbing for someone. I missed a key on my iPads keyboard and went to hiking project. I went back a page but I’ve lost the entire post. Do we need free widgets on the bottom of every page? Can the widgets pop up a new page so this doesn’t happen again?
