Cheap calories on the fly?

What are you broke dirt bags taking on overnighters and full day rock climbs? Mountaineers and ice climbers need not comment, I'm looking for ideas for times when there is no snow to melt or running water, and the sun is beating down so that sandwich might spoil.

Olive oil in a water bottle.

Thank you but the thing with ramen is you got to pack your own water and the stove is extra weight. Canned beans are pretty good but the can is messy to deal with on the way out. My trash bag broke once with a sardine can in it. It's still alittle gross smelling.

You don't need water for ramen, you sprinkle the flavor packet on it and eat it like an oversized cracker.

Now we are thinking like a real dirt bag, thank you. And you could dip it in Nick's olive oil. Keep em coming!

Just a big block of the cheapest cheese you can find. Bring tortillas and place it on the hottest rock you can find. Boom quesadillas.

Take peanut butter, jelly, honey, nutella in whatever combo you like and fill up a ziplock bag and seal it good. When you are ready to eat, take a knife and cut off one of the bottom corners of the ziplock then simply squeeze the contents out into your mouth.

Its essentially a DIY gu packet.

Gross. Plus, you're basically rehydrating it in your stomach, so you need to bring the extra water anyway.

Maybe hold off on the trollish answers until the serious replies are done?

Last night’s leftover pizza.

Gas station breakfast sandwich. You shouldn’t get the squirts unless you wait until late afternoon to eat it.

Peanut butter and bagels or bread, or gluten free muffins.

Free deer jerky

Coconut oil is fantastic in coffee and you can use it as a personal lubricant!

Nothing trollish about olive oil. It really is quite energy dense & easy to digest. Lard ball with salt & honey works well also.

You could also try some crotch pot meals.
