Zoroaster Temple - Approach beta from rafts

Hello.

4 of us are launching down the Grand Canyon next week with 2 rafts. We would like to take a side adventure to also climb Zoroaster Temple's NE Arete.

We are not allowed to leave our rafts unattended at Phantom nor do we wish to leave them at Cremation.

Has anyone approached and climbed Zoroaster from the river (not from Phantom)? Wondering about Clear Creek Canyon or Zoroaster Canyon...

Any beta is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Great idea Steve....there will still be plenty of PBRs to share on day 8 of our 30 day trip.

We have decided to attempt an approach via the Clear Creek Canyon.  There is supposedly a scramble up the Red Wall near the Ottoman Amphitheater.
If anyone has knowledge of this area, feel free to share.  Thanks.

I'm envious of this trip! I too hope to climb Zoroaster from the river - was surprised to hear that you can't leave rafts at Phantom. I'd assume the same is true with kayaks? In any case, please report back once you've done it (and if indeed you approach from Clear Creek) - beta would be much appreciated! And good luck!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
