I am having a hard time picking between two set of Tools. Grivel North Machines or Grivel Tech Machine Carbon. Just wondering if any one has tried them both.

Thanks,

I have the North and the non-carbon Tech Machine. They're definitely different tools. The North is the predecessor to the Quantum Tech, which arguably has/had one of the easiest swing and stick. The North is a great tool for alpine and ice up to WI4ish. Tech Machine is a good offset handle tool for harder ice and mixed  but think there are better out there. That said I still love Grivel metallurgy.

They're great tools.  If I could only have one technical pair it'd be the TMC's.  Happy climbing!
