Ice climbing?

Has anyone gone ice climbing yet this season?  I've heard that Lee Vining has fairly consistent ice, but I'm also wondering about Eagle Creek Canyon or anything else closer to the Bay Area.

The ice is really thin this year. I hope you lots of stubbies!

Found some ice up Tuttle Creek out of Lone Pine! Lots of fun

Cold Stream 1/13/18. Code Red/Blue also fell down. Walk on the wild side (furthest right) was in good enough shape. Not real solid ice but leadable for a confident WI4 leader.

I wouldn't count on Eagle Lake until we get some cold weather to settle back in for a week or 2.

Anyone know if the winter route/winter chimney on lone pine peak has any ice?

It looks like temps will be dropping for the weekend.

Tahoe conditions looking great: http://www.sfgate.com/news/article/ice-skating-Caples-Lake-Tahoe-frozen-Red-Lake-12507144.php

Beware of avi conditions if/when it starts snowing.

We just need snow so there can be a freeze thaw cycle. Should be good to go after this weekend.

How we looking in Tahoe? Lone Pine? Just got back from Ouray and I need more shitty weather.

Lower boyscout lake at Mt Whitney looked fat.

I'm not sure where the ice normally is in Lone Pine, but on the winter route of LPP there was no snow or ice in the first gulley.

Anyone been back to coldstream canyon lately? Wondering if it's worth the approach after this coming week of cold.
