With the storm on Sunday/Monday...

  1. Can you drive to the phantom spires turnoff?
  2. Can you drive to wrights lakes trailheads? (not climbing just hiking)

Thanks!

I am interested as well.

I am just speculating here but I'd be 90% sure the road up to the Spires is good to go.  We got zero snow at lake level with this last storm, and it had no snow on it prior to the last storm.  Things might change next week (18th/19th) but we'll see.

I doubt you can drive all the way to Wrights Lake THs but I can't be certain of this.

Thanks Mike! If anyone else has additional beta it's still appreciated!

Here is the Twin Bridges webcam, looks like there isn't any snow on the ground up there, so there shouldn't be any at Phantom Spires or Wrights. It might be muddy though.

Thank you both! I'll bring chains and a shovel just in case!

Be sure to check for dirt road closures. Some roads in that area are closed during certain times of the year to prevent rutting them out.

They are closed at certain times of the year because they are closed at certain times of year as I recall and LOL!

They ticketed some climbers during a bone dry Winter/Spring. So yeah, it’s actually based on the season, not the conditions.

Considering my car’s clearance I just park off the road near the dirt road. It’s not a far hoof at all.

Chains and shovel for the paved part! My van is 2wd

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
