I had no issues getting here. I booked a round trip flight to Cancun then flew from Cancun to Havana, 2 different tickets. Be aware that the embassy is not functioning for us citizens, so if something goes wrong, youre on your own. I would also change all of you us dollars over to pesos in Cancun. You get charged 10 percent in Cuba. Living on $20 usd a day for food, water, buses, beer is very hard, but doable. I booked everything on airbnb before I left, not needed, accommodation is not a problem. Every house in vinales has an airbnb. Vinales is now very touristy. However, book your bus to vinales ahead of time if you want to leave in the am. Many bolts are old/ bad and the mosquitos destroy your will to live. While Cuba may indeed have the best limestone in the world, many crags are south facing, and its just hard to get things there. Please bring, paint brushes, reeds, soccer balls, frisbee, baseball gloves, baseballs, anything you can give someone that would mean the world to them.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
