What years were the major Linville fires?  I am doing a project on land cover and need the dates.

The bad fires were in November 2013... We had a few this year and last year too however.

Was there one a decade or two earlier?

I think the Selected Climbs guide makes mention of some fires from the early 2000s. I definitely don't have any personal knowledge of any fires though. You think this is something the government would keep track of. Have you tried contacting anybody from the forest service?

I'm sure there was... Most dry years there is some kind of fire... Not too sure about that far back though, I'm only 28... I remember the 2013 fires well though, that's why the rim from table to rock to shortoff is still scorched to hell.
