Brad Gobright and Jim Reynolds have broken the record on the Nose with a time of 2:19 (4 minutes faster than the previous record set by Alex Honnold and Hans Florine). Way to go!

I wonder how fast Brad and Alex could go

It's insane! And amazing! A friend of mine is there right now, they watched it as it happened.

That's an improvement of ~2.81% over Honnold and Florine. Not so bad.

Damn that's rad. Think it'll ever go in sub two hours?

It's 31 pitches, right?

I think it was our recent thread conversation here on mp about how speed climbing is lame that convinced Gobright to do this.  Congrats mountainproject!

Damm ....that’s awesome......I must be really getting old.....just finished 8 pitch 835 feet climb at Chapel Pond .....took  2 hours and 48 minuets and I thought we were moving at a good pace for an on-site

edit in my defense there were 3 of us

Didn’t mean for it to be a brag.....I am getting old my understanding is that most climbers do the Chapel Pond run in about 1 hour 30 minuets

Nice humble-brag ... humbly saying getting old, then detailing your climb length, time,... letting all know it's an on-site and that there were 3 of you guys.

I just cannot imagine that Honnold wouldn't re-take the Nose record, and do it in mind blowing fashion.

But it won't be with Hans, who is 50+ and has retired from speedclimbing the Nose (or so he's said).

I was floored when I saw the Nose speed record list, and that Hans was on it in 1990 and again in 2012.  Quite a feat to be speedy for so long.  My first car was a 1991 model and it's been long gone.
