Climber Friendly Gunks Lodging this Fall

As the nights get longer and colder, we have a private renovated basement room for up to two climbers.

The good: quiet neighborhood in Stone Ridge, 20ish minutes from the cliff.  1 acre of land, deck, grill, kitchen use, showers, laundry, heat and comfort, wifi, resteraunts 5 minutes away, backyard fire pit with wood available, can provide dinners and wet bar for a small fee.  Clean room has a bed, desk, and climbing book library.  Finished basement is 1400sq. ft and it's pretty much yours for the night.

The bad: basement is yours but bathrooms and kitchen are upstairs, we have a two year old (who you usually can't hear down there, but she does live here), no pets, this is not a party spot, and there's no window in that room so people often sleep later than they intend.

As much or little interaction with us as you'd like.  Quiet suburban neighborhood. $40/night, $60 for two.  This is not an air b n b listing or a full service b & b - it's just a small way for climbers to help other climbers out with affordable & comfortable lodging for the fall season.  Space is often occupied by friends and family, so be in touch early to reserve your spot.

Bump for a rad dude and a rad spot. Not far at all from the Gunks!

I hope the wet bar fee is "per drink," or you could find yourself in the red on the deal!

Bump for the Lucander - great family with a great basement (I stayed there once upon a time) and proximity to the gunks. Great and hospitable hosts, encyclopedic knowledge of the gunks and superb cooks. Bring a growler and you've got a friend for life...

Are you going to have availability early next fall? I'm looking at making the trip over there to attend a rope rescue class.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
