Hey guys there is this super cool new aid hook that Outside Mag even raves about, probably "super" strength rated. Good to show off the fact that you are anti ultralight backpacking and would prefer not to be prepared in the backcountry with multi-use gear

Missed the big "This product is not for climbing." on their page

It's tongue in cheek to be sure.

Yo,

MP is half helpful/epic beta and the other half is trolling/shooting the shit about something related to rock climbing. If you didn't pick up on it being the latter, then good luck navigating with your internet commentary compass. Just thought it was classic to take away the main functionality of a carabiner with the strength rating and add a hook as the main selling point. Only place where I could see the upside of this product would be to hang a backpack off a bathroom stall "if" it didn't have a coat hook on the door. Other than that, get a real carabiner to clip your backpack to your hammock straps and you will actually be making a good buy.

Wow, just what I needed.  Especially since I couldn't do the same thing with a biner I already own and a sling I already own.
