Our input is valuable to who and for what purpose? It helps to be up front with this info when asking for the favor of data collection.

i don't need communication information about climbing. I need information about communicating in my relationships.

"On a scale of 1-5, how important is communication for you when climbing?"

How important is it that I understand he said "you are off belay" or that I understand what he means when he said "I am having a good day"?

Whatever the purpose of this survey, you may want to clarify the questions.
