Anyone have the manual to understand if this device can be used for belaying a leader or for top rope belay?

Sure but it wasn´t particularly any good for any purpose and was dropped years ago from their range.

Some further research indicates, a version known as Lucky Globus existed before the Edelrid version.  Edelrid seems to have acquired the design at some point.

Looks like a belay plate that can be used for sling shot belays and lead belaying as well.  Unusual for a belay plate.  A few reviews indicate that it worked fine for it’s intended purpose, and has advantages over plates such as Kong Gigi or Camp Ovo, because of the keeper loop’s design.  One opinion seems to suggest that it works as well as the tube style Plaquette such as the Reverso, if not better.

That sounds in line with the reviewers who prefer Reverso over ATC Guide due to the hole configuration. Perhaps some influence?

I’ll send you a belay device if you pay for shipping. It looks like there are unbroken edges on that thing

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
