Looking for trip reports advice for Chamonix. Trying to squeeze in some solid sport climbing while visiting next week.

Seriously? Sport climbing in Chamonix?  It's the climbing playground of all time.  If you're looking for solid granite rock climbing without significant glacier approach, look at the South face of the Aiguille du Midi.  There are a number of trad (but probably littered with bolts & fixed gear) routes here. About an hour descent from the Midi teleferique station, though you'll need lightweight boots & crampons.  The routes top out on the Cosmiques Ridge which ends at a ladder onto the tourist observation deck.

At the very least, you can head down to Les Galliandes for crag climbing.  It's south of town, easy access.

I've found camptocamp is a good resource for climbing in Europe.
