I may be headed out to visit family during thanksgiving.  All of them are located in Newburgh, which is close to the gunks.  I live in Colorado and am used to climbing outdoors all year.

Is it a similar story for the gunks?  I assume if it's sunny it's fine.

The main Gunks areas--Trapps and Near Trapps get morning sun into early afternoon. November weather even late in the month is very variable--from quite mild to snow, but generally expect temps in the 40s-low 50s F, so OK if in sun, chilly once the sun goes away. I've surely had good days there over Thanksgiving and into December some years, other years, not so much...!

as others have said you could be good or you could be snowed out.  A few years ago it snowed pretty steadily from halloween through march, but last year we climbed on new years day (in a long sleeve t-shirt).  The northeast just doesn't have predictable weather.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
