Not to come off like too much of a jerk, but it sounds more like you're asking someone to pay you in order to house/dog sit for you.

If the price was right this could be a deal but most of the times that I have pet-sat it's been exchange for a free place to stay.

Actually, I agree. It's like the people who ask where they should go for a two week trip and not mention time of year or type and difficulty of the climbing.

I can understand if the owners don't want to tell the world when they won't be home.
