Climbing In Wyoming

Hi all. I'm a very new climber. I just started a week ago! Needless to say I don't know much about it yet, but I really enjoy it. I've only done top rope climbing with an instructor.

I'm going on a trip to Sheridan, WY in August. Are there any guide services in that area that can take me climbing?  Being so new, I don't have the gear or experience to go unless I have a guide. I'd like to go climbing while I'm in that part of the country.

Hello Alex, there is plenty of climbing in the bighorn range but I don't know of any certified guides. Your best bet for guide services would be Devils Tower, its about a 2 1/2 hour drive east from Sheridan. There are a number of reputable guides who would be willing to take you climbing. Another option would be to drive two hours south of town to Tensleep Canyon. I do not know of any guides there, but you may be able to find someone to take you under their wing at the Tensleep Brewery, it tends to be full of climbers.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
