I am looking to practice some aid climbing in prep for an out-west road trip. I know climbs like Congratulations and Sometimes Crack can be aided, but what other lower difficulty aid climbs are there at the lake? Preferably a less popular area because I don't want to be that guy hogging a route for an hour as I slowly make my way up.

Well, you can attempt to aid any climb at the lake all from C1 to C-whatever....  Please no hammers, clean aid only-but I am sure you are thinking that already.   I would suggest the Berkeley/Chicago/Evanston Township area. It think those routes could be what you are looking for.

Dippy Diagonal would go really well.  One of the few continuous splitters at the Lake and it's a 5.7 with lots of gear.  Also in Major Mass, which tends to be less crowded than the East Bluff.

If you don't mind short, September Wall has The Fang and S Darko.  It's out of the way and there's minimal trickery.

Getting to it also isn't bad when there's snow on the ground.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
