How to repair/prevent hole in 5.10 Anasazi upper?

I've had a pair of Anasazis for about a year and even though I don't do much crack climbing a hole is forming in the upper. The hole doesn't go through right now but it seems like only a matter of time. I haven't even had these resoled yet so they don't have a ton of use. Though the Anasazis are great I've had other shoes last much longer.

What can I do to cover the hole and protect this area from getting another hole? Shoe goo?

Since they are going to need to be resoled soon would it be better to let the shoe repair person do it?

Cover the area with Shoo Goo

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
