Hello all,

I just obtained the administrator rights for Ohio, and wanted to just say hello to all of my fellow Ohio climbers. Now that the Mad River Gorge (Springfield, Ohio) is officially open, I've been trying to get that page updated and would love any help with other parts of the state if anyone has suggestions for additions/ changes/ etc. Thanks!

Courtney

Great work so far Courtney, not an easy task! I refer everyone I talk to out there to the app if they don't know about it.

I climbed Springfield Gorge back in the 80s - but it was on the other side of the river.  Do you have any information on when (if) that area will open up again?

Thanks for letting everyone know about this tool! One day we hope to get a guidebook put together for the MRG, but the MP App is the best resource for information about the area!

There are plans to purchase the other side of the river (and more property on the southside as well). If things go as planned... the northside should be open by 2018 (we hope)! They are also planning on building a pedestrian bridge to provide easy access to both sides of the river. That will come later on.

Would love to come down and help develop the area and put up some routes. Shoot me a pm if help is needed.

Super excited by the prospect of this park. https://keepitontheqt.com/home

Looks like there is definitely some potential there.

Yes! I'm definitely excited as well! It would be great addition to the climbing in Ohio!
