Hi guys, I want to learn how to trad climb as the topic title said. I've gone sport climbing and enjoy it but I feel as there is something missing. Thus, I'm lead to trad climbing. There's a 5.9 hand crack and a 5.11a finger crack at the gym I go to that I have climbed but since that's the only crack climbing I've done and indoor grading is not always representative of outdoor climbing anyways, I am in need of someone to show me how to do this right.... I live in Medford, if anyone is interested let me know. Thanks.

Happy climbing,

Trout creek is pretty stiff (grades) and doesn't have a lot of easy routes.  I would recommend you start out at the lower gorge at Smith, Shakespeare Wall, Catwalk Cliff, and Student Wall have lots of mellower crack climbing.

I'll be at Moolack this week. Tougher than Trout, though so you'll get thrashed.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
