Black Totem Frayed Cables

I recently noticed that the cable wires on my black totem have already started to fray after ~20 placements, it's never even caught a fall or been used aid climbing. The cables on the black seem to protrude a bit when fully contracted (unlike the blue and larger sizes).

I have three blue totems that have been dropped, whipped on, one even ripped in a fall and their cables are all fine. Anyone else notice this? It seems like it might reduce the longevity of these small cams.

The good news is you can probably still sell it for $100.

I' m Mikel from Totem. The frayed loading cable affects the strength of the device. You should stop using it immediately.

I would never expect this cable fraying without aiding or whipping on it. We would be happy to pick-up your cam for inspection and replace it by a new one for free. Please, contact
