I'm new to the area and planning on doing some bouldering this weekend. I was planning on driving out to harper's ferry but its a bit far. I'm wondering if there are any decent bouldering areas closer to baltimore? I've seen some crags here on MP but most look like toproping and sport climbing with not much info on bouldering in those same areas. Any help would be appreciated

Finding decent bouldering around bird-town is a chore.  You can find a few problems here or there, but never more than a few.

It's a bit of a drive, but you should check out Mount Gretna PA.  Nice concentration of boulders in Governor Dick Park. Easy approach.  Plus, there's a newly printed guide (well worth the cost) for sale at the visitors center with excellent photos that make route identification much easier.

Alternatively, an overnight to Coopers Rocks (wv) is hard to beat.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
