So I will be working with the conservation corps from June through the beginning of August and don't have any local people to climb with. What is the typical method to find somebody to climb with in the valley?

There's a bulletin board at Camp 4 that always has lots of partner want-ads, or you can post your own.

Hey dude I hope you have a lot of fun in the valley. In my honest opinion head to camp 4 like the previous post mentioned. Camp 4 has a little shack with a  Corkboard on the back of the structure, there's lots of notes with people wanting partners. Shouldn't be a problem. Parking is definitely a a massive problem in the valley in season, Sometimes once you arrange a day to climb you may have to drive out of the park for the night to crash camp. Arrange a meet up spot since sometimes there's limited cell reception but it's usually pretty good in the valley. Be honest about your limits and experience climbing ( I have no idea if you are used to the rock in the valley, etc) Also that same shack/little ranger station at camp 4... The window will say how many camp spots are open for the next day. You can get up really early and wait/nap in line...

Definitely the bulletin board.  Did that a couple of years in a row and met amd climbed with terrific folks.  One or two not so good but the rest great, including some that have been lifelong friendships.  It can be a great way to find partners in crime as you work through the classics.
