Heard there was a lot of snow this year down there.   Wondering if conditions are climbable at Tahquitz & Suicide Rocks yet?

Thanks!

Heat and rockfall are the only concerns right now.  Snow is gone except for a few negligible patches at the base of the North Face.

Sunday 5/28 was my first time ever at Tahquitz, I climbed The Trough (5.4) and I didn't see any snow. Several groups were out climbing a variety of routes.

Stay out of the NW Recess for a bit longer and you should be fine.

How long does it take you to hike a mile with about 1,000 feet of elevation gain starting at 6,500 feet with whatever you are going to carry?  I can do it in 20 - 30 minutes without killing myself, and I am old and not in great aerobic shape.  Young bucks pass me, but I usually get an early enough start that I don't have to wait at the base to get going.

Now, it takes longer to get around to the NW Recess, and if you don't know where the route begins, it can take a while to find the right starting spot.
