Browsing Pub Med I accidentally ran across this article, I'm sure I'm not the only one to whom the title sounds intriguing. It's available on Pub Med Central (if you don't know about it - it's your go to source for freely available peer-reviewed articles).

A new treatment for frostbite sequelae; Botulinum toxin

WTF, right? Botulism neurotoxin. For treating frostbite after-effects? Who knew...

(Please don't try this at home! ;-P )

I expected the pain relief as a target (Botox has been used in headache disorders / neuralgia for some time), and increased sensation as a function of less pain; but the treatment of vasospasm and increased rewarming was interesting and unexpected!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
