Headed to the Red for the first time this weekend and am wondering if I should take my 70m with me? Ps not climbing anything harder than 12+

looking at the weather forecast, I'd recommend also bringing rain gear

Yeah the weather looks like crap, but hopefully we can find some steep dry walls. It's also the maiden voyage of our recently finished climber van, so it's just in time. Life is so much better in a van than a tent when it's raining.

Are there routes that will need it?  Yeah.  Are they most of the routes there?  No.  So, I'd say take it if you want...there's no reason NOT to bring a 70, but if all you have is a 60, you'll still be able to get on 99% of the routes at the Red under 5.12.  Most of the longer 70M routes are at the Motherlode, so if you know you're heading there (good idea, given the rain), I would bring it.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
