My wife, daughter and I are planning a week to ten days of climbing and camping around Mt. Charleston. Last time I climbed the area was in the mid 1990s. Any free camping in the area? Alternative pay site?

Hoping a swim hole might be in the area too?

Last week of May first week of June. (Maybe till June 10) If you're around and need a partner, let me know. Depending on weather, heat, we'll visit other locations too.

Any and all advice welcomed.

We're out of shape, but it's all sport climbing, so everyone can work on their own routes.

  1. Some campsites in the area can run 30 a night. Some of the shadier casinos can run 29 a night- showers, bed, ac, cable tv, etc.

Depending on the site size they range from around $15-40 a night. NV is almost all BLM land and it takes a bit of trickery to camp for free around here, but it's easily done; however a multiple day trip with the fam and your looking at a pay site for sure. The sites are well taken care of but for maybe Air B&B might work to find a cabin up there. Good luck!
