Anyone know of any good sport climbing near Stanley? Is Yankee Fork crag worth checking out?

Sport climbing ain't what the sawtooths are about.  Kinda long walks.  Especially right now.

Aome stuff in the canyon above Redfish along the bottom, but thats kinda closed out this month...

Actually, the sport climbing up Yankee Fork is pretty fun. The scrappy crag is about 1.5 miles from the main highway, on the left. 1 minute approach. Routes start at 5.9 ish on the left side and get harder as you move right. I think it's best in the pm when it gets shady.

Ditto that the Yankee Fork crag is fun.  I wouldn't call it a destination area, but, a nice break from longer climbing gigs.  Also hot springs nearby on the river.

I think it took us two or three minutes to approach (we're slow).

Thanks guys, I will check it out.  Sounds like a nice half-day escape from a family reunion!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
