I am visiting Norway May 22-27 and would like to do some climbing.

My typical preference is long alpine routes and I have been investigating Lofoten with this in mind. The average temps for Lofoten in May/June are 40F - 60F and these two months also have the lowest average preciptation of the year (55mm). According to mountain project ticks and rock guide sites, it is a little early in the season for climbing. Does anyone have any more information on the season in this area? Is it better for mixed climbing right now or is May an 'in between' for rock/ice season?

I've heard that this Nord Norsk Klatreskole is a good place to meet climbers, but I'm not necessarily set on Lofoten or even Norway (although it looks awesome). I will be in Copenhagen the week before and welcome suggestions of other places for long alpine routes that may have more favorable weather.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
