Punished for giving photos low ratings?

When I'm bored I'll go through the photos here and rate them. So far so good. But now I sometimes see blank space in the photo area on the front page, with the comment "Not shown, you rated this photo poorly." Well fine, I did give in an "OK" rating, but that's still a hell of a lot higher than the rating I'd give to a big black rectangle. I could see MP finding replacement photos for the ones I give "OK" or "Meh" to, but why just show me a black rectangle? It feels like I'm being punished for rating photos (or for not rating them all "Awesome!").

That was a result of a small number of people not wanting see photos deemed NSFW.  This will go away when we redo that home page this summer.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
