Mammoth Lakes/Aspendell Science

Hey everybody-

I am a graduate student at UConn doing field research with hummingbirds in the Sierra Nevada. We're interested in how they live at high elevations. I am having trouble finding housing at high elevations- if anybody knows a high place where I could get housing and access to electricity, I'd love to hear about it. There isn't a Mammoth/Bishop specific place to find housing (or at least I couldn't find it). If you're interested in science, want some help with rent, etc. let me know.

Any reason you're not considering June Lake?

Almost as high as Mammoth Lakes. But not so much asphalt road access to higher elevations as Aspendell or Mammoth.

I have considered June Lake as well, but also found housing difficult to find.

Long time visitor of Mammoth, and from what I hear is that most of the properties within the town are used for timeshare/rentals so finding residency at an affordable price can be tricky.  Do what the locas do, commute from Bishop.  That commute is shorter than mine in the city, well time wise at least.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
