Little cottonwood

I am coming down to the area from Portland around the weekend of April 28th and was wondering if Little Cottonwood canyon is accessible for climbing or if there is still a lot of snow on the ground? Also I am open to recommendations for folk's favorite places in the area besides the cottonwoods and also any campgrounds that may be open this time of year. 

Youre good with anything south facing. 

Especially down canyon from Gate Butress.
