Hi everyone, I live in the Bay Area and was wandering if anyone knew any free meetings/clinics that teach how to set up anchors and top ropes for outdoor climbing?

I would say go to a climbing gym but if your wanting free I'd suggest hanging out at a close by crag an maybe somebody might show you some basic stuff. Climbers are usually friendly an willing to throw in their two cents. Definitely don't just go an try to figure it out.

Do you know any experienced climbers in your area? Considering you want it free, that's your best bet.  You could also post on MP that you're looking for partners and you will belay.

Do you have any climbing experience? Do you know how to belay?

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
