I remember years ago that John Long ( the writer/climber) was trying to develop SLCD with steel cams; the logic being that steel being a lot stronger,  in turn you could make the camming part a lot thinner. Does anyone if he got anywhere with this idea?

Also, does anyone have a set Cam Keepers they would like to sell?

Finer cam lobes =less friction and more damage to the rock, he probably didn't get very far also steel has less friction in general than aluminium so it would be horrendous for both you and the rock.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
